Ambassador Camerer crowned Miss Summer

Ambassador Sheila Camerer was invited to be the honorary patron of the Miss Summer  competition at the Elenite resort on the Black Sea on Saturday, 14th August.  The jury which included Miss Bulgaria 2009 chose Plamena and she was crowned by the Ambassador.

The day commemorates 9 August 1956, when women from all races and walks of life marched to the seat of government, the Union Buildings in protest against oppressive Apartheid laws. This year marks the 54th anniversary of the women’s march and serves to remind South Africans about women’s rights.

Ambassador Camerer visit to Vidin

H. E. Ambassador Sheila Camerer visited the town of Vidin on 16th and 17th July2010 at the invitation of Mr Vesselin Koshev, President of the Direct Democracy European Movement and the Mayor of Vidin, Mr Rumen Vidov. Ambassador Camerer was in the company of the Georgian Ambassador and the Kazakhstan Charge d’Affaires.

Spain crowned Wolrd Champions

Johannesburg - Andres Iniesta scored with four minutes of extra time remaining Sunday to give Spain a deserved 1-0 win over the Netherlands and a first World Cup title.

With the teams facing a penalty shootout in a game of few clear chances, Iniesta collected a sliding pass into the area from substitute Cesc Fabregas and smashed the ball across goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg and in at the far post.

South African Summer Festival in Padina

The Mission co-hosted a spectacular FIFA World Cup closing event at the Villa Marciana, Padina Village outside Varna, billed as a South African Summer Festival, together with the President of the Bulgaria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce Franz Josef Grenzebach.
The programme started at 6pm on Sunday, 11 July with a press conference. A large contingent of media including TV was present and stayed for the event.

The Dome to host World Cup closing concert

A concert marking the end to the FIFA World Cup, as well as celebrating South Africa as the 2010 hosts will be presented at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg on Friday night. Internationally - acclaimed tenor Andrea Bocelli will be the star attraction of the "Celebrate Africa, The Grand Finale" performance.
